In Amazon’s back-to-school offer, the Kindle Paperwhite bundle price is slashed by $50, and you can get the newest Fire HD 8 tablet for under $60.
In recent years, the mid-summer Prime Day shopping event was for many customers not only the chance to shop for vacation gear, but also to get ready for the next school year.
Due to coronavirus, Prime Day 2020 event is delayed, but Amazon has not announced when would it happen. Media speculate that it may run in late September or early October.
If you are planning to equip yourself and your family with newer, up-to-date devices, you better take a look at these back-to-school Kindle and Fire deals, as they may be the only price cuts in next several weeks.
The easiest way to check out all back-to-school offers for Kindle and Fire devices is to visit Amazon Device Deals sub-page.
You will see here currently active deals on all Amazon devices, not only Kindle or Fire. The deals include Fire TV Stick 4K (30% off), Echo Dot (get for $29.99), Echo Studio (save $30), or Alexa smart home bundles (up to $75 off). On Amazon Device Deals page you also will find a direct link to shop all college supplies, with many items offered at prices cut by 25% or more.
Obviously, back-to-school deals were never (and will never) be as attractive as Prime Day or Black Friday, but this year it’s reasonable to plan things in advance in order not to get caught in shipping delays caused by the second wave of coronavirus.
The good news is that deals on Kindle and Fire models are as good as offered last year.
Before the list, it’s worth pointing out that the extremely popular Kindle Unlimited deal giving two months of free unlimited reading has just been extended till December 2020. It’s addressed not only to new but also returning members, so it’s worth spending a minute on deciding whether it’s a good reason to reactivate Kindle Unlimited.

Up to $50 off Kindle bundles
Kindle bundles are a popular back-to-school product, especially the bundles tailored for children.
The most affordable is Kindle Kids Bundle, which includes the basic Kindle, 1 year of FreeTime Unlimited, and a kid-proof case in one of four colors. The regular price of the bundle is $109.99, but the back-to-school deal cuts it by $20, to $89.99.
It’s not the highest price drop on the Kindle Bundle. You can save $35 on Kindle Essentials Bundle, which includes besides the entry-level Kindle model (ad-supported version), an original made-for-Kindle power adapter, and waterproof fabric Amazon case in Charcoal Black. The bundle costs right now $104.99 instead of $139.97, which means you save 25%.
If you want to save the most, and enjoy the coolest Kindle you can get, make sure to check out the deal on Kindle Paperwhite Hunger Games Bundle. This unique bundle was released to celebrate the launch of The Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and comes with a case featuring original artwork from either the Hunger Games or the prequel. We expect the successor of the current 10-inch model to be released even this year, but if you are looking for a solid entertainment tablet with a large full-HD display and expandable storage, this is your chance to get it under $100.
The regular price of Fire HD 10 is $149.99, but the $50 discount lowers the price to $99.99 for the variant with ads and 32 GB of internal memory. It’s worth noting, that this particular model is the only Amazon Fire tablet which comes with 1-year warranty – others offer only 90-day protection.
You can choose from four body colors in the current color-scheme – Black / Plum / Twilight Blue / White.
Get the newest Fire HD 8 for $60
The all-new mid-range Fire tablet was released at the beginning of June. It comes with 30% faster performance, twice the storage expandable up to 1 TB, and USB-C connector for faster charging and data exchange.
It’s most important feature, however, is a unique landscape-first design that changes the way you use the tablet. The front camera was moved from top side in portrait mode to top side in horizontal mode. Thanks to that, you will be able to easily and naturally use the tablet for video calls or Zoom meetings.
The most affordable variant, the one with 32 GB of internal memory and special offers, costs today $59.99, instead of a regular price set at $89.99. 33% is a surprisingly high price cut, having in mind that this is a brand-new model.
As you know, the 8-inch Fire is also available in a premium Plus variant, which offers bigger RAM (3 instead of 2 GB), more powerful 9W in-box charger, and unique Slate body color. You can grab it now for $79.99 ($109.99), and keep in your pocket $30 – 27% of the regular price.
