Besides adjustable warm light and free 6-month Kindle Unlimited subscription, the 2019 Kindle Oasis offers the same features as the previous-generation model.
The release date of the 3rd-generation Kindle Oasis is set on July 24, 2019. The new e-reader costs the same as the earlier model. For the variant with 8 GB of internal memory and special offers, you will pay $249.99.
If you were expecting a bunch of new innovative features from the most advanced Kindle model, you will be disappointed. Kindle Oasis 3 adds only one essential new functionality – the one its competitors have for some time already.
The newest Oasis is the first Kindle to sport adjustable warm light. You can change the color temperature of the front light to be warmer. It’s very helpful if you are reading a lot in the evening, as blue light (which is natural for daytime) can cause sleep problems. You can adjust the intensity of warm light, as well as schedule how it works during a day.
Another new thing that comes with Kindle Oasis 3 is a limited time offer that will give new owners the possibility to enjoy six months of Kindle Unlimited ebook subscription free of charge. Please note, that if you decide to redeem the offer, the subscription will automatically renew after six months, for $9.99 per month.
One more thing to note is that no variant with cellular connectivity is offered yet. It will most certainly change, maybe even before the official launch, as Kindle Oasis user’s guide includes information about WAN variant – “WAN Model Number: S8IN4N.”
The now earlier-generation Kindle Oasis is still available on Amazon, and still at a price reduced by $50. You can grab it for $199.99. Most probably this deal will be offered during Prime Day 2019.
