Goodreads Choice Awards is the only major book awards decided by readers. It’s organized by Goodreads, the social network connecting book lovers from around the world.

For the seventh time, the users can vote for the best book of the year. Goodreads Awards 2015 is now open for voting.
You can vote for books in 20 categories, including Best Fiction, Best Fantasy, Best YA Fiction, and Best Goodreads Debut Author.
For the first round of voting, 300 nominees were chosen – 15 for each of the 20 categories. The books were selected not by Goodreads editors, but by the users. What counted was the ratings and reviews the readers left under every book added to Goodreads catalog.
In total, the nominees have been added on Goodreads more than 6.2 million times.
You can vote three times in Goodreads Awards 2015:
- Opening Round – November 3 – 8 – there are 15 official nominees in each category, but you can add any book you want,
- Semifinal Round – November 10 – 15 – the top five write-in votes in each category become official nominees,
- Final Round – November 17 – 23 – you can vote for one of the 10 best books in each category.
In Goodreads Awards 2014, the users have left 3,317,026 votes. This year, two days after starting the first round, there are already over 800,000 votes cast!
To leave a vote, you have to be a registered Goodreads user. If you are still not a part of this vibrating community, consider signing up – and Goodreads Awards is a good reason to do that.
The list of nominees is, in fact, a great list of the most interesting books to read in 2015. Once you are a Goodreads member, you can add your favorite titles to the Want-to-Read shelf.
Among the nominees, you’ll find the bestselling thriller by Paula Hawkins, The Girl on the Train, or the third book from a Cormoran Strike crime series by Robert Galbraith, Career of Evil.
These books will compete in the Best Mystery & Thriller category with the latest novel by Stephen King, Finders Keepers, or David Baldacci’s Memory Man.
